With so much to see and do, it’s no wonder millions flock to the sunshine of Dubai every year. Here are just 5 of the top outdoor activities to do in Dubai.
Hitting the Dunes
If you are looking for something to boost your adrenaline rush, quad biking through the dunes is a must. Getting to spend a few hours racing up and down the dunes in the desert is a highlight of many adventures in Dubai. You also have the option of either doing it as an excursion or renting a quad bike out yourself, giving you freedom to explore wherever you like. However, bear in mind that you must be at least 16 years of age to take part and have some knowledge of driving.
Many choose Dubai for its vast amount of hiking trails and glorious mountains to explore. If you are looking for a sense of adventure, visiting the Musandam mountains is a good place to start. Whilst the mountains are accessible through Dubai, they lay just over the border into Oman so be sure to have your passport with you. Also, take note of the weather conditions before you hike as the temperatures (particularly in the summer months) can become sweltering and make your experience incredibly uncomfortable.
Hitting the Beaches
With miles upon miles of glorious sand and crystal blue seas, it’s easy to see why so many choose to hit the beaches when visiting Dubai. With a whole range of outdoor activities to choose from, there will be something suitable for everyone no matter your age. Hitting Kite beach is a great choice if you are keen to try out water sports such as surfing. However, if you prefer to stay on land, be sure to have a game of volleyball whilst taking in the glorious sunny views of the ocean.
Whilst there are many modes of transport to take you through the desert, some choose to see the sights by riding a camel. A once in a lifetime experience for many, you can be up close and personal with the wildlife of Dubai as well as soaking up the stunning views of the desert. Also, a portion of the price of your ticket goes to helping to support the animals and the local animal conserve, giving you peace of mind and doing your bit to helping the animals of Dubai.
